"OK folks, I wanna take a moment to introduce the band…"
Roadhouse is a 4 (and occasionally 5) piece covers band, based in the rich Prairie lands stretching from Bledlow Ridge to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Buckingham.
Roadhouse plays Classic 'Americana' - the best of American Rock, Country Rock, Southern Boogie and old time Rock'n'Roll. The Roadhouse 'Musical Roadtrip' starts at the birth of modern Rock'n'Roll in the 1950's, and spans the greatest decades in America's musical history.
Roadhouse is on a mission: we're chasing down the musical heartbeat of America, so get set for a beer-fueled, tyre shreddin' road trip clean across The Big Country....
Our set is a 90 proof cocktail of Classic Rock, Country Rock, Southern Boogie, and Old School Rock'n'Roll, from some of America's finest including Springsteen, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Lou Reed, The Eagles, Steve Miller, Chuck Berry, Neil Young, Duane Eddy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alan Jackson, Tom Petty, Creedence, Little Richard, Reckless Kelly, Brad Paisley and John Mellencamp.
Let's take a moment to introduce the band....
First up is Mr. DAVE LEWIS ( aka 'The Reverend Zeke'), lead vocalist, and a Jedai Guitar Master. The Rev still holds the Bucks County All-Comers record for the most notes played in a millisecond - "I swear that there fretboard was smokin' Boy"....
By day, Dave works for The Man: by night he's a composer, songwriter and producer, with several acclaimed solo albums under his bed... err... belt.
Check what he's been up to here.
Then there's our Geetar Deux - PETE THIRLBY ( aka 'Pierre Lafayette', Southern Gentleman and occasional Gator Farmer). Another well known face on the Buckingham scene, Pete and Suzy often pair up for acoustic sessions in the bars and saloons of his home town. Pete's been playing with The Rev and CT (below) for nigh on 15 years now, so they just about got it right...
And the man in the shadows, the steady hand on the reins, confidently steering the chuck wagon clean over the edge of the cliff... CHRIS SMITH ( aka 'CT' on account of his middle name - Tiberius - which is only borderline better than 'Sue'). Some say choosing a drummer whose hero is Phil Rudd from AC/DC was... errr... ill-judged... but hell, it seems to work.
And completing our 18-wheeler rhythm section...Our shining new addition to the line up...please put your hands together for the Bassman - Mr Nick Butcher (aka 'Gator'). Rock solid grooves tumble from the fretboard, Gator helps keep the good ship Roadhouse on a steady course. That shirt is a clear breach of dress code though... must have a word about that....
Last - but by no means least - please say hi to our special guest turn... our very own 'Rhinestone Cowgirl'.... miss SUZYANN SMITH ( aka 'Li'l Lady' ).
We're happy to call SuzyAnn in to share the lead vocal duties whenever the occasion demands. Also means we get to play some classic tunes from the Great American Country Song Book. Every which way, it's win - win!
Suzy lives and breathes music, it's her career as well as her 24/7 passion. A well known figure on Mainstreet, Buckingham, Suzy brings a touch of Rhinestone Cowgirl glamour and vocal delicacy to the band, together with pin-sharp acoustic rhythm guitar.
